Future Directions

The following list details features that are planned to be added to Loggerhead in the future. The list is in no particular order and there is no guarantee that a feature on the list will actually make it into Loggerhead.

• Multiple concurrent logins.
• Optional caching of generated web pages.
• Ability to add/remove functions to/from the list of available applications.
• Administration facility with ability to set such options as disconnect after idle period.
• Ability to update data.
• Ability to load/unload data from/to files.
• Ability to view debug output.
• Additional database object information in browser application.
• Improved error handling.
• Ability to load images.

Platforms

Operating Systems (for the server component), Oracle versions and Browsers that have been tested and are certified to work with this release of Loggerhead.

Browser Issues

Stylesheets

Loggerhead makes extensive use of stylesheets, and while most recent browsers can handle them, some may not or cause formatting problems. Such problems should not cause any functional problems instead resulting in some web pages just not looking right ! One tested browser that this behaviour has been observed with is HotJava for Solaris 1.0, which has no suport for stylesheets.

Fonts

Depending on the width of your browser window, fonts do not always display in the correct fontface following a table in the web page. This appears to be a bug in the handling of stylesheets by certain browsers.
